We just finished our once-in-an-instutition’s-lifetime 75th Anniversary Homecoming Weekend.  Homecoming definitely is not something we usually do, so we went all-out for some amazing fun!  Rather than me type about it, why don’t you watch these amazing videos that our campus put together!

2014 Homecoming and Family Weekend Draws Crowds



One of my favorite things about working at Cal Poly Pomona is how supportive they are with being involved, especially at the regional level.  For the past three years, I have been on the Executive Committee for the Western Association of College University Housing Officers (WACUHO).  I was the Junior Technology Coordinator, last year I was the Senior Technology Coordinator, and this year I am the Member-at-Large, South.

One of the fun things about being on Exec is travelling to different campuses in the Fall and Winter for our meetings.  Ten professionals from across the Western region meet to discuss the business of the association, determine long-term goals, approve budgets, and plan for the WACUHO Annual Conference and Exposition (WACE).  This has afforded me the opportunity to work with so many amazing people in our region, as well as have a vast network of professionals to bounce ideas off of, and to learn about best practices from other schools.  One of my proudest accomplishments while I have been on Exec was a revamp of two WACUHO websites!  The main website at http://wacuho.org and our Leadership Manual at http://wacuho.org/wiki.  This definitely made the organization more efficient from its older designs, and helps us operate with a easily searchable wiki.

The best part however was developing lifelong relationships with the people I have served with on Exec.  Every year, I am proud to serve in this amazing volunteer organization where people from all different types of institutions come …
